When your HandyComfy device is away from the ComfyUI computer’s local network, use Tailscale to provide a private network path between them. HandyComfy still connects to the ComfyUI server running on your own computer or server.
Set up the private network
- Install and enable Tailscale on the computer that runs ComfyUI.
- Install and enable Tailscale on the phone or tablet running HandyComfy.
- Connect both devices to the same Tailscale network.
ComfyUI must be running and started with --listen. Tailscale provides the path between devices; it does not change how ComfyUI accepts network connections.
Add the Tailscale address in HandyComfy

Open Settings → Server Management → ComfyUI.

Add a ComfyUI server and give it a recognizable name, such as
Home PC - Tailscale. -
Enter the address of the ComfyUI computer on your Tailscale network, followed by the ComfyUI port:
http://<Tailscale-address>:8188 -
Save the server and select Test Connection.

Confirm that the connection succeeds and the ComfyUI indicator in the bottom status bar is green.
The address is specific to your Tailscale network. Do not copy an example address as if it were your own.
Keep local and remote connections
HandyComfy can store multiple ComfyUI servers. If useful, save a local address and a Tailscale address as separate entries, then switch between them depending on where your phone is connected.

Do not expose the ComfyUI port directly to the public internet as the default remote-access setup.
